One of the things that makes Flagstaff such a unique place, is the fact that we have a fairly decent sized population and yet we still manage to maintain a small town feel. This is never clearer than during the annual Earth Day Service Project Event. Steeped in tradition, Flagstaff’s Earth Day consists of volunteers from all over the city coming together to help clean and beautify our neighborhoods and streets. Volunteers meet at 9am and divide into groups; these groups then disband into nearby neighborhoods with the goal to revitalize the community, especially those surrounding Wheeler Park and the South Side. The event shows the common tie that the people of Flagstaff share and it’s one of many reasons Flagstaff is a great place to live and visit.
